I purchased some wood beads to make a wall hanging a few weeks ago. Since I had some beads left over I thought I should try to make something. A pair of wood bead earrings was what I came up with!
My style as far as jewelry goes is pretty minimal. Unless it’s a wedding or big party, I will most likely only wear a small pair of earrings and a bracelet. Luckily minimal is in, so I have been able to find lots of pretty pieces to wear. I’m drawn to natural looking materials for jewelry, like hammered metals or wood.
That being said, these minimal wood bead earrings are going to get a lot of use!
They were really easy to make and took almost no time at all! I made three pairs in under 20 minutes. You just need a few basic earring-making supplies, wood beads, and some hot glue to secure the beads. I love the idea of using these as baby shower gifts or for holiday presents! Let’s get to making!
Hot glue gun
Step one: Thread the wood bead onto the eye pin. Then use the jewelry pliers to make another “eye hole” or loop. Make this hole large enough so the bead sits on top. Repeat with the second earring.
Step two: Secure the bottom of the bead to the pin with some hot glue.
Step three: Use the pliers to attach the earring hooks, and you are all set!
