Living in the desert means dry skin during the winter months. It’s really difficult to stay hydrated, and a lot of the times I’m stuck feeling super itchy. Since we have made the move over to natural products I haven’t found a moisturizer that really helps to calm my skin, so I decided to measures into my own hands! I combined hydrating oils with skin-softening oatmeal and made a soothing lavender oat sugar scrub.
What I really love about this scrub is how therapeutic it is on so many levels. There is sugar which helps to exfoliate, super hydrating oils, and oatmeal which helps to alleviate any irritation! Then, of course, we have lavender since we are on the theme of calming. The ground lavender buds are totally optional but they do add some spa-like qualities (yes please!). After one use I did see an improvement in my itch factor. I now use this scrub 2-3 times a week to help keep my skin glowing during these crazy dry winter months. I’m so excited to share this DIY with you, let’s get to it!
