Halloween Squid ink pasta in a white wine tomato basil sauce
Squiggly black squid ink pasta is the perfect base for a spooky Halloween inspired dinner. Tomatoes, basil, and white wine are just a few of the delicious ingredients that make this tasty dish stand out!
  • 8oz squid ink pasta(make according to directions) I found mine at a local supermarket, but you could easily source it online as well.
  • 35 red and yellow grape tomatoessliced in half.
  • 3 cloves garlicminced
  • 1/3cup red oniondiced
  • 3 large basil leavesstack and roll leaves then slice vertically
  • 2Tablespoons butter
  • 1/2cup Chicken broth
  • 1/2cup dry white wine.
  • 1/4teaspoon red wine vinegar
  • 1/4teaspoon olive oil
  • salt and pepperto taste.
  • pinch red pepper flakeoptional
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and melt butter, then add red onions and garlic. Sauté for 3 minutes.
  2. Boil water in a separate pot for pasta.
  3. Add tomatoes and red wine vinager. Sauté for 4 more minutes.
  4. Add pasta and olive oil to boiling water. Cook according to package directions.
  5. While pasta is cooking, add chicken broth and wine then turn up the heat to medium and let the sauce simmer for 5-6 more minutes. Stir occasionally. Add optional red pepper flake, and salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Drain pasta and combine with the sauce. Garnish with basil!
