I’m a collector at heart. Crystals, plants, and most of all postcards! I had been saving my postcard collection in a shoe box and figured one day I would find a way to turn it into a craft. The other day I was at Joann’s craft store and found a pair of tropical wreath frames that were begging to come home with me. Instead of wreaths, I wrapped the frames with yarn and glued small clothespins to them. Now they are pineapple and palm tree postcard displays for my office! Wrapping the frames took me a couple of nights to do but I’m so excited about how they turned out! Let’s get to making!
Supplies for pineapple and palm tree postcard display craft:
Yarn in different colors
Step one: Cut a piece of yarn long enough to be wrapped around the part of the frame you are wrapping. I took a piece of yarn and measured out by matching it up to the portion I was going to wrap. Then I doubled that size. That left me with a little slack to work with at the end. If you run short while wrapping, simply tie on more yarn, snip the excess yarn and place the knot so it’s on the inside of the frame.
Step two: Tie one end of the yarn to the frame with a tight double knot. Keeping the yarn taut, wrap the frame. Make sure to keep the yarn wrapped close together to ensure it does not unravel. When you’re finished, secure the yarn by another double knot. Repeat with the next color.
Step four: Glue the clothespins to the center of the frames.
