Hey, guys! I’m really excited to share this project with you today! I collaborated with Steph, the maker behind makeandtell.com to come up with the perfect homemade gift for the holidays. Together we created two enchanting scented candles with labels you can print!
Working with other creatives is one of my favorite things to do! It’s so fun brainstorming on ideas together, then watching them come to life (such as this post here). This particular project was really easy to work on because I already love Steph’s designs! She created two whimsical labels and we fittingly named them Happy Holly-Days and O’ Christmas Tree.
These DIY holiday scented candles are a great present idea; I already plan to hand out quite a few. I really like that they look store-bought and actually add scent to a room (using all-natural essential oils).
These candles are easy to make, which I loved, because–real talk–the holidays are busy! Steph already did the design part. All you have to do is print, then follow my tutorial below on how to make these natural, soy-based holiday candles! Let’s get to making!
Supplies needed for DIY natural soy wax candles
Holly Berries essential oil blend
Christmas Tree essential oil blend
Two candle holders with wick built in. Or two soy candle wicks and two jars.
Two skewers
Medium saucepan
2-3/4 x 2-3/4 Printable stickers
Two medium mason jars
Candy thermometer
Step one: Fill up a saucepan halfway with water. Then place one mason jar into the water (like a double boiler) and bring water to a boil.
Step two: Fill the mason jar with ½ of the bag of soy wax flakes, then heat melting wax to 175-185 degrees on a candy thermometer.
Step three: Once the wax is to temp, add 1/3 of the bottle of essential oil and stir with a plastic spoon.
Step four: Secure the wick in the center of the candle jar by tying the top of the wick into a knot around the skewer.
Step five: Turn off stove; then, wearing oven mitts, carefully remove the hot mason jar from the stove. Pour the liquid wax into the candle jar, stopping about ½ an inch from the top.
Step six: Let the candles sit for 6-8 hours then add your label! Repeat the same steps for the other scent.

Tip: I used these labels and the design is set to match. Print as normal, at actual/full size.
