It’s that time of year, time to turn things that you wouldn’t think to decorate into pieces of magical holiday art. Thankfully the clearance aisle at target (swoon) and your local craft store can generally provide you with all the supplies needed to DIY your little heart out! I scored this round mirror for $10 and knew that it would end up on the blog one way or another.
Thankfully the holidays gives us an excuse to let out our inner child.
See, as kids, we could express our creativity without any inhibition. If you wanted to glue noodles to the hair of a badly drawn version of Justin Timberlake, you could hang it up and call it art without judgment. As an adult during the holiday season, we are given a little bit of slack to bust out our glue guns and get our “make” on. So if you want to glue garland to a mirror and call it a decoration, well I would say it’s your holiday right, nay duty, to do so! Paint a clothespin like a soldier and call it an ornament, make popcorn garland, or a paper dreidel. It’s the time of year to let loose a little bit and have fun with your creative side.
This project turned out pretty adorable and looks awesome hanging in our kitchen!
I may keep the garland on it for next year, or I might use it again for another project, I’m still undecided. That’s the magic in hot glue, it’s only semi-permanent. But enough is enough, let’s get to the making part of the program, shall we?
