Last Sunday, my friend came over to hang out and help me decorate the house for Christmas. Luckily, we have the sort of friendship where I’m completely comfortable with her seeing my house in a state of total disarray. While sifting through my decorations we stumbled upon the back-up holiday craft supplies.
I like to keep a small stock of holiday DIY supplies so I can get a head start on blogging. We found these unpainted nutcrackers and my friend insisted we paint rather than decorate. I happily went along with her proposal since the nutcrackers are technically decorations and I loved how inspired she was.
We decided to color block them and keep them all around the same hue to create a set. We had the best time painting, chatting, and watching movies. I highly suggest ditching all responsibilities (such as decorating for Christmas) when feeling inspired to craft with a pal! Let’s get to making!
Supplies needed for DIY color block nutcrackers
5 complementary paint colors
4 unpainted nutcrackers (I found these at Hobby Lobby)
Begin painting the nutcrackers section by section and let dry. Once the first coat of paint has dried, apply a second coat and touch up any mistakes.
