The struggle to be organized is real! I’ll take help anywhere I can get it. Even if that means using multiple different calendars to help keep my life straight. Yep, the iPhone is not enough for me; I like to keep reminders up around the house too.
The only place that was missing a sweet calendar/message board was my office. Since my office is primarily for Blissmakes, it only seems fitting that we DIY something! I scored a message board from IKEA, and with a little (ok, a lot) of pretty colored spray paint, I had a gradient DIY calendar! Let’s get making!
Supplies for DIY Calendar:
Gold 4.5m washi tape
Light blue spray paint
Pink spray paint
Yellow spray paint
Gold spray paint
Gold letter stickers
Step one: On the frosted side of the board begin spraying the bottom half with blue paint. Only spray half of the board.
Step two: Next, where you ended with the blue paint begin spraying with the pink paint, overlapping a little of the pink on the blue for an ombre or gradient effect. Spray 1/3 of the board pink.
Step three: Spray the remaining blank portion of the board yellow, overlapping with some of the pink paint for the gradient effect. Let the paint dry overnight.
Step four: Spray paint the nobs or fixtures that came with the IKEA board gold.
Step five: Tape seven pieces of washi tape 3 inches apart vertically down the paint free side of the board. Then tape five pieces of washi tape 3 inches apart horizontally across the board, stopping at the last piece of tape so there is an open section for notes.
Step six: Decorate the 7 top boxes with the letters of the week, saving the last section for notes. Then add the gold painted fixtures
Here’s to the organization battle, my friends! May you never have to pay a late fee! I hope you guys enjoyed this DIY calendar. Don’t forget to follow along on Pinterest for more fun and creative ideas!
