I love it when I get the chance to turn something that I already own into something even better. I had an extra pair of cheap hoops laying around that needed a little charm. With that in mind, I decided to add some rainbow cording giving these hoops a splash of color and texture! Now they are a cute pair of Boho earrings that will work great for summer! The best part is this quick earring craft will only take 10 minutes! Let’s get to making!
Supplies for boho earring DIY
Gold hoop earrings
Gold 6/0 E beads
Step one: Find the color pattern in the yarn that you would like your earrings wrapped with. With the cording I used, I was able to fit four colors around the hoops.
Step two: Cut the cording starting at the color you want to start wrapping with. Tie a knot around the hoop, where you would like the cording to start. Begin wrapping the hoops, keeping the cording close together and tight to the earring so it doesn’t get displaced later.
Step three: Once you have finished wrapping, tie another knot to secure the thread then snip off the extra thread. Now add a dab of E-6000 to the end knot; use your finger to secure any loose cording left over from the knots. Then while the glue is still wet, thread your bead on to the earring and place it right above the knot. The glue should be what secures it in place. Repeat this step on the other side.
Step four: Repeat steps one through three on the second earring.
That was pretty simple and you get super cute results! Let me know what you think of this project below! And don’t forget to follow along on Pinterest for more fun ideas!
