Lately I have been gearing up for summer, as you can see here with these tropical DIY planters! I scored this serving tray at Target’s bullseye playground (their discount section) and I decided it would make a great tray for my patio table! It was super easy to paint, and I was able to completely changed it’s look to match our summer vibes!! Let’s get to making this DIY color block serving tray!
Supplies for DIY color block serving tray:
Pink, yellow, green, turquoise, blue, and purple acrylic paint
White spray paint
Unpainted serving tray
2- 3 Square-tipped paint brushes
UV resistant spray
Cup of water
Step one: Spray the top and sides of the tray with the white spray paint and let dry.
Step two: Once the tray is dry, prep your paint brushes, brush water, paper towels, and paints. Lay your try so that it is facing vertically. Starting with the pink paint begin tracing the lines that are cut in the tray to form a hexagon. Repeat this step switching colors in the desired pattern for the entire tray.
Step three: Paint the top parts of the edges in four different colors.
Step four: Once the paint has dried, coat the top part of the tray with UV protectant.
