What are your feelings about air plants? Me, I absolutely love them! However, I can’t seem to keep them alive for the life of me. I generally have a two-month success rate; that being said faux plants have come a long way. It’s getting easier and easier to fool the eye with a plastic plant. Which means I get to decorate with as many unique plants as I can find and not worry about killing them! That also means that they can be painted to match whatever color theme you are currently vibing on. This DIY colorful air plant centerpiece is very easy to make and is full of style. I found these faux air plants at Hobby Lobby and spray painted them. The driftwood was a score from home goods but I have also seen them in pet stores as they are often used for terrariums. The combo makes for a colorful and natural DIY that can be completed in under 30 minutes. Let get to making, friends!!!
4 colors of spray paint
3 faux air plants
1 piece of driftwood
Step one: Holding the spray paint at least a food away from the wood spray both sides with two coats of paint, set aside and allow to dry.
Step two: Spray each one of the air plants with an even coat of paint, hold the can a foot away to avoid drips. Set aside and allow to dry.
Step three: Once the paint has dried arrange the plants in a design you like. Then use a hot glue gun to glue the plants to the driftwood.
