Have you noticed the abundance of skeleton Halloween decorations out this year? While I appreciate a good scary decorated house, I tend to lean more towards the “spooky” side of the holiday.
I recently did a post on how to make a ghost and pumpkin garland and the ghosts were so much fun to make that they found their way into another project.
This ghost tassel boo pillow is the perfect addition to your spooky décor. It took me about 45 minutes to make the ghost tassels, sew them on, and then add the BOO with acrylic paint. I recently had my little nephew over and he thought this pillow was the coolest thing ever. He sat and played with the tassels like they were toys! It was pretty adorable, and I bet the little ones in your life will love this project too! Let’s get to making!
Supplies needed for DIY ghost tassel pillow
Four ½-in. foam balls
5-in. long cardboard
White thread and needle
Hot glue and a glue gun
Black acrylic paint
White throw pillowcase and insert
Step one: Follow this tutorial to make your ghost tassel. Swap the 7-inch piece of cardboard for a 5-inch piece.
Step two: Thread your needle and begin sewing the top of the ghost head to the corner of the pillow. Make about 15 loops to secure your tassel. Repeat with the remaining three tassels.
Step three: Glue your googly eyes to the face of your ghost and paint the mouth.
Step four: If your stencil doesn’t already have a sticky side, use scotch tape to adhere it to the pillow. Then, using the medium paintbrush, begin dabbing the black paint onto the stencil. Carefully remove the stencil from the pillow and let dry.
