Thanksgiving marks the end of pumpkin season, and we welcome in the chaos of the Christmas tree season. I always experience a touch of stress right around now, with questions like: Did I budget enough? Did I get time off of work or will I be working on this holiday? How many Christmas posts is too many? How am I going to get all this shit done? I’m beginning to understand why stores start selling Christmas decorations in October. Time is fleeting and I, for one, don’t have enough of it!
With that being said, the opportunity to spend time with my friends and family around this time of year is an absolute highlight! So, when planning for our turkey dinner, I wanted to create a warm calming vibe! This tablescape encompasses muted neutral tones and organic elements to make your guests feel relaxed and ready for a feast!
I always keep an eye out in the Target clearance section. It’s a great place to score beautiful pieces at half price, which is where I found all of the ceramic vases. Etsy is my go-to for pampas grass, which is the centerpiece for this Thanksgiving tablescape. Leftover pumpkins from October adorn the middle of the table, assuring a fall aesthetic.
Pink and orange have swept the interior decorating scene, and I have definitely taken notice. So to complement the orange pop the pumpkins bring, I used some rose/pink-colored fabric that I sprawled through the center of the tablescape. I was so happy with how it looked; the fabric definitely gave a traditional table runner a run for its money. Plus, it made me feel like a rebel–a tablescape decorating rebel! It also complemented the earthy feel I was shooting for.
Since I am a crafty crafter, an element of homemade in any decorating is pretty much a must! So, I ran this DIY clay bead garland we made last week through the center of the tablescape!
This Thanksgiving tablescape is simple, organic, and inexpensive. Not to mention you can use elements such as the vases, dried pampas, and the candle holders year round. Which to me is a refreshing take on tradition!
